b o t h AW24 is all about transformation. Inspired by the ethereal beauty of the moth, the Parisian-based independent footwear brand embraces the ability to change, to adapt and evolve, and to choose one’s identity through metamorphosis. The AW24 collection encompasses the concept of continuous reinvention, an ode to those who seek to transform themselves and the world around them.
Delving into the enigmatic allure of these nocturnal creatures, b o t h offers a range of accessories for the modern night owl, from heels to boots to bags, featuring striking metal ornaments and other bold materials borrowed from punk culture such as bashed leather, cow hide and denim. New to this season, b o t h introduces the RE:RE sole, a new take on the signature GAO sole. Catering to a diverse range of individual styles, the AW24 collection melds craftsmanship with contemporary urban aesthetics, allowing wearers to express their unique personalities effortlessly, thus embracing individuality and the spirit of nonconformity.
b o t h endeavors to create crafted footwear that elevate a look, adding an <<avant-garde>> flair to the silhouette, while remaining functional, comfortable and gender inclusive.
RE:RE
The name of the new RE:RE sole came from restart, reborn and renew. Evolving from b o t h’s signature GAO sole, RE:RE has a sophisticated silhouette and is much flatter than GAO with a rounder toe cap. The sole is made of lightweight EVA with contrasted rubber inserts in the heel to create a colour blocking aesthetic. The new take on the sole makes it very light and easy to walk in, embedded with an anti-slip characteristic.
Another new feature in the RE:RE collection is the distinctive metal moth ornament, used to adorn the moccasin loafer, moccasin boot and maryjane.
GAO
Bringing us back to the punk culture that swept across the 90’s, GAO collection incorporates metal rings commonly seen on body-piercing, and materials such as brushed leather and cowhide onto loafer and slip-on styles, reinterpreting classic archetypes but with a modern, contemporary twist.
b o t h boots have always been highly-sought after and are frequently spotted on celebrities and fashionistas around the world. For AW24, b o t h continues to offer versatile boots in all kinds of length - chelsea, knee-high and thigh-high. They are the staples in your wardrobe that go with anything in any style.
KITTEN HEELS BOOT
The sculpted kitten heels are making a comeback this season. Updated into a pointy denim boot, the heel is made of silver toned lacquered resin – a lightweight material that allows wearers to easily trot down the streets in style. Heels were never just for women. Requested by a lot of male fans, the denim knee boot is also available in men’s sizing (up to EU44).
GAO EVA
One of b o t h’s bestsellers, the GAO EVA AW24 collection is giving cyberpunk and outdoorsy vibes. Hiking shoelaces run through the collection, even on chelsea boots, embellished with the metal moth adornment, juxtaposing timeless archetype with robust details. The chunky GAO EVA hiking-inspired boot definitely steals the spotlight, and is the perfect footwear to complement any coat outfit.
BAG COLLECTION
The much-loved half-moon bags are not going away anytime soon. b o t h’s pierced shoulder bag takes on the punk-inspired features as seen on the footwear, made with black and cowhide calf leather. The branded metal rings are used on the adjustable strap, allowing the bag to be easily switched from a shoulder bag to a crossbody.
Another bag offered by b o t h this season is the large tote bag. It is an everyday bag with a generous size big enough for laptops. Made with black calf leather and embossed croc calf leather in dark down, the strap is detailed with metal rings. It is the perfect bag for the pragmatics who appreciate style and details.
